Aviation Acres was created in 2006, evolving over the course of the new few years into the site that you see today (http://www.aviationacres.com). The theory behind the website was always this- The internet is loaded with aviation-related sites that list property on airports, but most are simply "Classified Ad" sites that were not very useable for pilots, so by creating Aviation Acres, we could not only solve this problem, but become a very useful tool for the aviation community.
We wanted to provide a true database of real estate properties on airports and airparks around the US and Canada. What if you needed a three thousand square foot, four bedroom, three bath home in Florida with a 4000+ foot runway... and you wanted the airport to have fuel service? No other place on the web can you locate such a home, and here, you can do it with ease.
What is Aviation Acres all about? It's about matching pilots with properties. It's that simple. It is our goal to give pilots the best location on the web to search for their next aviation real estate, regardless of the state they are looking in, or if it is listed with a real estate company or for sale by owner.
We have gone to great lengths to build this site to be as user-friendly as possible. Our three goals while working on this site were-
- To provide a great tool for pilots looking for aviation property.
- To make it affordable for the real estate agents, agencies and private sellers to list their property, and
- To make it easy to use the website, both for real estate agents and pilots
